I’ve never read an author who understood and embraced the emptiness and unfulfilled nature of life as well as this Roman Catholic Priest. “We are fired into life by a madness that comes from our incompleteness.” Stunning.
At first, naivete gives us a simple faith. Then we learn a bunch of stuff and get cynically complicated. Some people, however, like this author, grow beyond that point into a beautifully simple faith. The book is a testament to the profound wisdom and maturity of child-like faith
This was my favorite book of 2009. Somehow, it left me feeling profoundly exposed without feeling condemned. It showed me some very ugly parts of myself, but helped me believe that I can be healed. There is hope...for even me!
This remains the single most important book I've ever read. It's a major reason I'm still a Christian...and still grateful to be.
This is a profoundly soulful book...a manual for how to be a spiritual human being in a supernatural world. Please read everything Rohr writes! (Especially his latest book "The Naked Now")
I’m not nearly smart enough to read this. It hurt my brain. But the 10% I understood has completely changed the way I think about reality and the development of consciousness.
The best book I've ever read about creativity. It is both deeply challenging and wildly inspiring.
